Need a break from marathon training? Looking to put your endurance to good use, but without having to “endure” quite so many miles? Come train with the Austin Track Club, Austin’s only middle-distance training program, to find out how fast you can run the classic race: the Mile.
Our coaches will take you through the workouts, drills and strength exercises that you need to get quick legs, a powerful stride and a strong finishing kick. Workouts will be twice a week, plus long runs with the Austin Track Club on Sunday. Each training program is built for you to run your fastest mile at one of the Mile City Series races.
Programs are $75 for 6 weeks. Workouts will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8am at the Stephen F. Austin High School track, and Sunday long runs will start from “The Rock” at the north end of the Mopac footbridge on Town Lake Trail. Participants will receive an Austin Track Club t-shirt and 1 point towards The Mile City Series. Registration is open to anyone ages 14 and up.
